What It's All About

Every week, I have a little commitment called Marvelous Monday! It's an after school, youth outreach program that our church co/sponsers with our sister church (are you lost yet?) and we have about 80 local school children that attend every Monday. Whew! Just picture VBS... on speed! Yep! Eighty (sometimes more, sometimes less) hyped up elementary school kids eat, sing, play, craft, and get story time all in 2 hours!!!

You'll laugh, cry, pull out your hair, pull out their hair, (joking), referee, play, sing, monitor, patrol,serve, clean, wash, hide (joking), teach, learn & love all in record time!  You leave hoping that in some small way,  you've made a difference in a child's life and that's what it's all about!

We have a bus and a van that make 2 to 3 trips to the school.  Once the kids arrive, they go into the old annex and eat. (PB &J, popcorn, cookies & punch) At the first of each month we have a big cake! They love that!!!

While each group is eating, the others play. And play. And play! Then it off to music in the Family Life Center. Everyone loves the music and it's amazing to hear eighty kids singing at once! Then, they split up for crafts (w/ me) and story time before their parents come to pick them up.  It's a super charged afternoon...


...and Little Miss loves it!
