Reunion

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

We recently attended the annual Gillis family reunion. (Trevor's Grandmother was a Gillis)
It was a really beautiful afternoon, full of food, fun and family. It can get rather hot sometimes in May and the bugs can be unforgiving, but this year was cool and bug free. The reunion is held at a private facility, so we always have the place to ourselves. The children enjoy playing on the playground equipment and going to the pond and this year (since it was cool) we all enjoyed the nature trail through the beautiful Cyprus forest. The food was plentiful and delicious and Trevor enjoyed listening to the storytelling and good music.

Everyone enjoying the boardwalk thru the forest.
A good time was had by all!

They even acted pretty!! We were at the Upper Seventeen. Some relation to the Gillis' owns this place out on the Waycross highway and it's like a big farm with a reception hall, a cabin and a huge shelter that has a stage w/ and a concrete floor that has basketball goals underneath. It also has a fishing dock and nature trail and big softball field. Not to mention swings and playground. A perfect reunion spot.
