The Sun

Every week we have a new theme on our learning board. This week it's the sun. The learning board consists of a theme, vocabulary word, letter, number, shape/color and a song/poem/rhyme. I have to tweak it a little bit to fit both Barrett's and Madi's learning styles.

This Week

Barrett:

Vocabulary words: Sun, Ray, Round, Hot, Heat
Spelling words: Sun, Hot
Health: (meanings of) Shade, Sunscreen, Sunburn, Dehydration
Math: addition table #8
Science: observing the sun safely project
Writing: the letter H and writing his name

Madi:

Vocabulary words: Ray
Math: counting 8 objects, coloring the number 8, matching #8's on index cards
Letter: H -Color letter H, point out letter H around the house and in car.

Barrett & Madi:
Art: Painting a Sun
Bible Study: Doxology song
Reading: various stories dealing with sun, space, etc..
Poem: The Sun Shines Down
Song: Can You Be a Sunbeam?

I think by the end of this week, we'll be experts on the sun..
